Tips For Running Monthly Specials

There are many different tactics you can use to grow your franchise business, including specials and discounts. Specials can be a great way to get new people in the door as well as build customer loyalty with your existing guests.

This is especially true for those specials that run on a regular basis. These allow your customers to plan ahead and get excited about what’s coming next month. Monthly specials can be a fun way to exercise your own creativity, too! Here are some tips and ideas to get you started.

Advertise Your Running Specials

Any successful marketing campaign, including regular specials, is all about awareness and access. Make sure you are advertising your specials through flyers, banners, printables, online posts, and updates to your website. People won’t know to come to visit your store unless you tell them!

Ideas For Monthly Specials

Here are some basic themes and holidays you can build your specials around each month:

January: New Year’s, fitness, health. Promote salads, lower-carb, or lower-fat options.
February: Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day, Superbowl Sunday, and Mardi Gras. Celebration, romance, friendships, gathering together.
March: St Patrick’s Day, Spring Equinox. Luck, new growth, productivity. Spring break specials.
April: Easter, Tax Day, Earth Day. Saving money, saving the planet, and warmer weather.
May: Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, last day of school/graduation. Joy, festivities, discounts for veterans or students.
June: Flag Day, Father’s Day, Summer Solstice, continuing graduations. Freedom, parenthood, families, summer vacation.
July: 4th of July. Parties, patriotism, reunions, travel, fireworks.
August: Late summer, traveling, picnics, family fun, staying cool. School may also begin.
September: Labor Day, school begins, Grandparent’s Day, Oktoberfest, Autumn Equinox. Changing seasons, back to school, cooler weather.
October: Halloween. Colder weather, parties, costumes, spooky themes.
November: Election Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday. Family, gratitude, abundance, support, voting.
